Cookie Policy

1. The Short Version

Mavertex does not set any cookies of its own.There is no login, no saved settings and no session to remember, so there is nothing for us to store. The only cookies you will encounter here are placed by Google's advertising, which pays for the site.

2. What a Cookie Is

A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. They are how a site remembers that you are logged in, or that you already dismissed a banner. A cookie set by the site you are visiting is called a first-party cookie; one set by another company whose code runs on the page is a third-party cookie.

3. First-Party Cookies: We Set None

Our server sends no Set-Cookie headers and our code contains no cookie-writing instructions. We also store nothing in local storage, which is the other common way sites keep data in your browser.

You do not have to take our word for it. Open your browser's developer tools, go to the Application or Storage tab, and look at the cookies for mavertex.com. Anything listed there will be from Google, not from us.

4. Third-Party Cookies: Google AdSense

Mavertex is free and has no paid tier. It is funded by ads served through Google AdSense, and those ads set cookies. Specifically:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet.
• Other ad vendors in Google's network may set their own cookies, or use web beacons, to count how often an ad was shown or clicked.

These cookies are set by Google's domains rather than ours. We cannot read them, and we do not receive the data they collect. What we see from AdSense is aggregate reporting: roughly how many ads were shown, and what was earned.

5. Analytics: None at Present

We do not currently run Google Analytics or any similar analytics product. If we add one, we will describe it here and change the date at the top of this page.

6. Turning Advertising Cookies Off

You have several options, and none of them stop the tools working:

• Opt out of personalised ads from Google at Google Ad Settings.
• Opt out across many vendors at once at aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org.
• Block third-party cookies in your browser settings, which every major browser supports.
• Use a content blocker. We would rather you kept ads on, since they pay the hosting bill, but the tools will not stop working if you do not.

Opting out does not remove advertising. It means the ads you see are chosen without using your browsing history, so they tend to be less relevant.

7. Clearing Cookies Already Stored

Cookies already on your device can be cleared from your browser's settings, usually under Privacy or History. Instructions differ by browser, and each vendor documents the steps for its current version: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.

Because we store nothing of our own, clearing cookies for this site costs you nothing. No preference is lost, and no tool forgets anything, since none of them were remembering anything in the first place.

8. Your Files Are a Separate Matter

Cookies have nothing to do with the files you process here. Most of our tools work on your document or image entirely inside your browser, so nothing is uploaded at all. Our Privacy Policy explains which tools are the exception and do send data to a server.
