  • Conversion runs locally via canvas; no files are uploaded.
  • Large images may take longer depending on your device.
  • WEBP offers smaller size with good quality for the web.

Seamless Format Flipping

Avoid installing heavy desktop apps. Our secure utility leverages your browser's native rendering engine to rewrite file headers flawlessly.

Modern Conversions

Convert outdated, bloated JPGs into ultra-efficient WEBP outputs, or take transparent PNGs and flatten them for legacy applications.

100% Data Privacy

Your sensitive photographs never leave your device. The encoding process happens locally on your machine, eliminating security risks.

Blazing Fast

Because it bypasses server uploads and queues, your new files are generated as fast as your hard drive can physically read them.

Social Media Posting

Certain forums and social dashboards outright reject high-quality WEBP or SVG files. Flip them safely back to standard JPEGs to ensure universal compatibility.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does WebP compare to JPG or PNG?

WebP is a modern format from Google with better compression than both: it typically produces files 25-35% smaller than an equivalent JPG, and unlike JPG it also supports transparency like PNG. For images going on a website, WebP is usually the best target format.

Does converting formats ruin image quality?

Converting from a lossless format (PNG) to a lossy one (JPG, standard WebP) trades a small amount of visual detail for a much smaller file. Converting between lossless formats preserves the image pixel-for-pixel. Avoid repeatedly re-saving lossy formats — quality degrades a little with each pass.

Are my images uploaded during conversion?

No. The conversion runs in your browser using the Canvas API — your images never leave your device.

What happens to transparency when I convert PNG to JPG?

JPG doesn't support transparency, so transparent areas are flattened onto a solid background (usually white). If you need transparency preserved, convert to WebP or keep PNG instead.

Can I convert HEIC photos from my iPhone?

Browser support for reading HEIC is limited, so HEIC files may not load on all devices. If the file won't open, have your iPhone export as JPG (Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible), then convert here.
