Frequently Asked Questions
How do I improve transcription accuracy?
Use a dedicated headset microphone rather than a laptop's built-in mic, work in a quiet room without echo, and speak clearly at an even pace. Microphone quality makes a bigger difference than anything else.
Which browsers are fully supported?
The tool relies on the Web Speech API, whose quality varies by browser. Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge give the most reliable dictation experience; Safari works well on Apple devices; Firefox support is limited.
Does my voice audio get uploaded to Mavertex?
Not to us. Recognition is handled by your browser's built-in Web Speech API — in Chrome, audio is processed by Google's speech service as part of that browser feature. We never receive, see, or store your audio or the resulting transcript.
Can I dictate in languages other than English?
Yes — the Web Speech API supports dozens of languages and regional variants. Pick your language in the tool, and speak naturally; recognition quality is strongest for widely spoken languages.
Why does transcription stop by itself after a pause?
The Web Speech API automatically ends a recognition session after silence. If you pause to think mid-dictation, the session may close — just press the microphone button again to continue; your existing transcript is preserved.
